EL wire, suitcases, and mixed materials
Temporary outdoor site-specific installation, Cherry Springs Dark Sky Park, Pennsylvania
Dimensions variable
Not Yet Arrived explores migration as both physical movement and a shifting state of identity, memory, and belonging. Suitcases—objects made to be carried, opened, closed, and displaced—serve as vessels for the traces of movement. Blue EL (electroluminescent) wire moves through, around, and between them, connecting the separate objects into a luminous network and making pathways of migration visible in the darkness.
Installed temporarily beneath the night sky at Cherry Springs, the work places these personal objects of transit within a much larger spatial and temporal scale. Against the movement of the stars and the surrounding darkness, the glowing lines trace uncertain connections between departure, passage, and destination.
